Vehicles of Osbourne

I am going to give you a brief overview of the vehicles my husband John and I own. (in no specific order)

2002 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk - less than 10,000 miles, 100% original. Manual transmission.  Obviously, we don't drive this car often, as we had it built to our specifications, and to be honest? I don't want to drive it and be responsible for it should I smack it up or something. Awesome car though.  Build # 885.

1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 DRM 450 - (what does all that mean?)  The car is FAST. 450 hp at the rear wheel. We named this car Christine. Yes. After the movie. (car is red! car is fast! car has an attitude!). Honestly, I don't drive this car often for a variety of reasons. #1 - the tires. Massive racing tires. They're like $1000 for a pair. They are the tires that came with the car when we bought it in around 2003.  Christine has around 53,000 orig miles, and I know at some point the car was modified a second time by Doug Rippie Motorsports.  Guy who was the original owner is the owner of the sex shop "Fantasy House" - the interior isn't exactly pristine - the headliner is coming down a little - however the stereo? Whew. Awesome doesn't even begin to cover it. Anyway - the last time I drove it (last summer), I visited my BFF Kim, and when I got home, radiator fluid poured out of the bottom of the car. Great. Diagnosis from my mechanically minded husband, John - needs a new water pump. Of course it does.

2000 Chevrolet Camaro v6. My car. Car’s name is Clarke. John had a fantastic Harley Davidson. He also couldn't help but notice how scared I got anytime he went out for a ride because no one pays attention and no one sees cyclists. So he sold his Harley and bought me this car.  2000 White Camaro V6 - T-tops, 750 watt stereo featuring 2 amps and 2 subwoofers. Interior is perfect, and for whatever reason, this car drives like a dream. Smooth, quiet ride. Feels more like a Lincoln Towncar than a Camaro. 188,000 miles on this baby. Took it for a drive the other day. Uh-oh. I can smell radiator fluid. If you know anything about these delightful sports cars you know overheating is a constant issue. DAMMIT.  John is going to see if he can determine where the leak is - upon closer inspection he noticed a TON of stop leak in the radiator.  Okay, so I am 2 for 2 on breaking cars. Nice work April.

2002 (I think?) Pontiac 40th Anniversary Grand Prix - PURPLE.  Before I got my previous work from home job, and I was job searching, we didn't know if I was going to find a work from home job or not, so we needed a second winter car (front wheel drive). John picked up the Purple Slurp (my name for it) for $3000 and completely rebuilt the entire front end - breaks, sway bars, shocks/struts, new winter tires and new summer tires to swap out, new headlights and taillights. Of course a fantastic stereo. Currently, it has about 88,000 miles on it and runs great. Break line has a leak somewhere thought and John isn't confident on the repair of that part so we need to take it in for a once over. Honestly, I can't wait to drive this car. I haven't driven it more than like once or twice when we bought it in 2020.

2013 Ford Focus SE - we bought this when it had 26,000 miles on it. Gets nearly 40 mpg, has a defectively built/designed transmission that we've already had to deal with. Now, the power steering unit failed. Yes, John can fix it - but he said the entire engine is build around the unit, so this is his currently daily driver - which he is driving w/out the power steering. Car has nearly 200,000 miles. This car I named Frank.

2006 (I think?) Ford Explorer 4x4. John's Mom gave us this truck when her husband bought her a new Bronco. She gave it to us stating she'd rather not sell or trade it in, and give it to us. Said it would give her peace of mind knowing we had a good strong winter vehicle. Okay. This truck's name is Floyd. His front drivers side tire sensor is all screwed up so we can't drive that either.

So.

We have 6 cars.

ONE of the 6 is running as it should, and that car, of course is the Firehawk.   Given my recent history of vehicular failure, I have ABSOLUTLEY no desire to drive it. I don't wanna break it.

We have kicked around the idea of taking the Firehawk to Barret Jackson.
