Poem I wrote when I had to put my 1st Boston Terrier, Katie to sleep
Your favorite chair is vacant now
No eager woof to greet me
No little paws to run
Excitedly to meet me
No playful bark, no little cry
Will say it’s time for playing,
I have put away your bowl,
And other toys you won’t be needing.
But I will miss you little friend,
For I could never measure,
The happiness you have brought to me,
The comfort and the pleasure.
And since god sent you here,
In earthly joy and sorrow,
I am sure there is a place for you in heavens bright tomorrow.
No eager woof to greet me
No little paws to run
Excitedly to meet me
No playful bark, no little cry
Will say it’s time for playing,
I have put away your bowl,
And other toys you won’t be needing.
But I will miss you little friend,
For I could never measure,
The happiness you have brought to me,
The comfort and the pleasure.
And since god sent you here,
In earthly joy and sorrow,
I am sure there is a place for you in heavens bright tomorrow.
